Teaching Experience

👋Hi! I’m Nicole Markowski, and I’m so glad you’re here! I am a Middle School Math teacher with 22 years of classroom experience and a passion for making math meaningful, manageable, and even more fun. Throughout my career I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. I’ve worked with a wide variety of learners, including AIS students, ICT classes, and English Language Learners. Each group has taught me something new, and they’ve helped shape the way I teach today.

I currently teach Algebra 1 to 8th graders in a district where all students follow an accelerated path. That means every 8th grader I work with is tackling high-school level Algebra – something I am dedicated to making both understandable and engaging. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a variety of tools and strategies to help students feel confident with challenging math content.

Teacher-Author Journey

Like many educators, the shift to digital learning during the pandemic pushed me to explore new ways to support students and teachers. In 2021, I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store, Math with Mrs. Markowski, to share the resources I’ve created—many of which are hybrid or digital-friendly. It’s been an amazing journey, and I love seeing how these tools help others save time and make learning meaningful.

Life Outside of the Classroom

Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mom of four amazing kids—including two middle schoolers! So yes, I live and breathe middle school life both at home and at work. It gives me a unique perspective as both a teacher and a parent, and I bring that insight into everything I create.
